Primary Duties

  • - Uses InfoMaker and/or SQL to run queries to extract student, graduate, faculty employee, and other information from the Jenzabar Ex software system
  • - Performs appropriate tests to ensure accuracy and consistency of all data, documents query/report criteria and processes to ensure consistent application of methodology in future projects
  • - Builds and maintains at least four database systems (student, graduate, faculty, and staff) for ease of completing multi-year data summaries for dissemination
  • - Acquires, organizes, analyzes, and synthesizes data and results from internal and external data sources to produce meaningful and accurate reports including the annual Fact Book
  • - Completes all required and requested institutional surveys
  • - Updates and maintains the Institutional Research and the Quality Enhancement Plan (IR/QEP) Manual

Other Duties

  • - Develops an effective system using sound strategies for obtaining quality data from various internal and external sources
  • - Prepares statistical reports on operational performance of the IR/QEP office and the IAER Title III activity as requested (weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually)
  • - Interacts with Paine's faculty, staff and administration as a group, sub-groups, or individually to identify suitable data, information, and research needs in collaboration with the IR/QEP and IAER

     

    Qualifications

    • Education: Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred, in the field of computer science, statistics, mathematics, information systems, economics or other field that included significant coursework in a related field from a regionally or nationally accredited college or university.

    • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years' experience as a Data Analyst or in a related position, minimum of two (2) years of experience extracting data from a query system such as InfoMaker or from a relational database such as Jenzabar Ex using another query system, experience maintaining and reporting data for a college or university's Institutional Research office, advanced level experience collecting and analyzing complex data, both narrative and statistical; experience maintaining and reporting data for a college or university's Institutional Research website would be an excellent asset

  • -  Strong analytical skills including, but not limited to, data analysis A
  • -  Ability to collect data from internally or externally developed surveys, process and analyze data, and prepare reports for dissemination of results to stakeholders with minimum supervision
  • - Intermediate to advanced ability to use all Microsoft Office 365 components
  • - Excellent communication (verbal and written)/interpersonal skills
  • - Successful history of handling confidential information and completing assignments when deadlines are critical
  • - Ability to explain concepts/data to technical and non-technical personas/groups
  • - Ability to work effectively alone and with a team
  • - Must be able to deliver work in a timely and consistent manner
  • - Self-motivated and Innovative  

 

Salary

  • Salary Range: $35,000 - $37,250
  • FLSA Classification: Exempt
  • Terms of Employment: 12 months
